This blog will be mainly focused on my own experiences with computers and software. Both I am using now purely as a user and hobbyist. Also I comment on interesting news about ICT, privacy and combinations of both.

BT ordered to block Newzbin2 filesharing site within 14 days

The Guardian reports that a British judge has ordered BT to block the Newsbin2 site and ip including any new site or ip. And has to do it on its own costs and without a court order. A single message from one of the Hollywood studios is enough. Question is how wil it take before other (bribed) judges in other countries will do the same? Not very long I suppose because those movie studios do have big pockets and large piles of cash. They will not be able to stop piracy but make it a little more difficult for an ordinary user. Funny thing is that in the article the spokesman of the studios says they have to because they otherwise can not start a movie or music internetservice. If they really wanted to do that they have had plenty of time but they still want to sell those overpriced dvd's and cd's. It is not a coincident that succesfull serviceproviders are the likes such as Apple or Spotify and literally none mediacorporation!
