This blog will be mainly focused on my own experiences with computers and software. Both I am using now purely as a user and hobbyist. Also I comment on interesting news about ICT, privacy and combinations of both.

Designing diamond circuits for extreme environments
Vanderbilt University has news about creating new computer chips and electronic circuitry for extreme environments: make them out of diamond. At nanometerscale diamond is not that expensive and by packaging the circuits in vacuum tubes they will still function in high radiaton areas and at very high and very low temperatures. It is a very interesting technique and the grant by the US Army may be well spend if it works at a industrial scale.
